Description:

http://www.greenpeace.org/usa The Japanese government continues to hunt whales in an internationally agreed whale sanctuary under the guise of 'scientific research.' This year, they aimed to kill almost 1000 whales. Greenpeace sent its ship Esperanza to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary in January to confront the whalers, but this was preempted by a deadly fire onboard the Japanese whaling fleet's whale processing ship which threatened the pristine Antarctic environment and cut short the whaling season. Japan's total take of whales from the Southern Ocean in 2006 was 505 minke whales and 3 endangered fin whales. Next year, they intend to add endangered humpback whales to their target list.

Nice one Antony! Your support means so much to all of us involved with ending the bloodshed! THANK YOU and can't wait to see what else you may do in the future with Greenpeace! Smaiuou022 - Im one of those people you won't tolerate :) Which is great, because the more factually incorrect things you write, the bigger the opportunity you provide us with to help educate. Ocean Defenders LOVE Japan and Japanese people! But We DON'T love whaling. :)

I won't tolerate those who are deeply absorbed in anti-whaling activities rather than A VERY FEW PEOPLE who hunt whales in Japan. Especially Greanpeace. They emphasize whaling in Japan though many other countries keep on whaling. They have sunk many whaling ships and injured many people concerned in whaling. I can realize only that an anti-whaling person like you have racial prejudice and is excessively ignorant about Japan.

Whales are a food source. Why is it people are up in arms about it? Foreigners making haste to Japanese shores to protest. I don't see the Indian people coming to The Americas or other countries decrying the killing and use for food of cattle. What's the problem? If I decide to eat a giraffe or a lion & feed it to my village are people going to fly off the handle? At least I am not bashing in seal heads just to wear a fur coat. I simply do not understand western thinking sometimes.

you are an arse hole. if you want your children to inherit a world less diverse, a world over fished and over hunted the you have a very poor perspective on your own planet. Me? i have dived with them many times (fin whales mostly), you imagain swimming along side somehing so alive, something the size of you main street that makes eye contact with you. then, then you would understand that the biggest animals that have ever! inhabited this planet need to be saved.

Ah actors!! Is there anything there they are not experts at? This guy should stick to flouncing around a stage and leave fishing to experts like the Japanese!!Whales feel no pain and are not really even aware they are alive.Killing them means nothing more than plucking a flower!!

*flips through it* Hmm...hunting's one thing. Clearly it's not just some trophy crap. But if you're dealing with an endangered species of whale, it's probably not such a good idea.
