Description: To see more, go to www.VBS.tv We caught up with Espers on an awful, rain-soaked Sunday that saw the Delaware River rise up and flood a bunch of the roads that run between our hotel to their practice spot, a converted storefront apartment in the Fishtown district of Philly. Right from the start, the band showed a refreshing lack of pretension and bullshit. They came off as a sincere group of buds who happened to come together every once in a while to write killer tunes and have some coffee and bullshit. They were totally laid back and relaxed while we chatted, but when it came time for them to play some songs they immediately transformed into a serious and intense collective of next-level musicians that we were stoked to even be in the same room with. We'd all been fans of the band for a while, but our one camera guy who hadn't heard them before (he grew up in Canada, give him a break) spent the entire ride back to the hotel sitting in the backseat mumbling "holy fucking shit" over and over again.
