sxclilcowgirl 2008-03-31 01:37:30 No matter what dicipline of riding you prefer. Wether it be dressage, camp drafting, barrels, show jumping, endurance, driving, saddle seat, westen pleasure, anything. The main point is that they all require a certian skill to establish a proper connection with your horse. Some require more skills than other, but each dicipline should be recginised and respected. Your all contradicting your selves, because all forms of horse riding have their own hertiage, tradition and meaning. __________________________________________________
HockeeGurl 2008-03-30 23:04:46 No, you didn't diss western or say that it shouldn't exist, that was ShowQueen202. She hit a very raw nerve by saying that, but you did back her up. You get more physical in that you leap from your horse and tackle steers or rope goats. That's what I meant by "Down and Dirty." __________________________________________________
KarlyyMiracle 2008-03-30 22:58:51 I never dissed western, I pointed out some facts and points that were (IME) wrong. I'm not saying that western should not exist, I think that western is a very important part of the heritage of riding and the world itself. I'm just saying that you are being stereotypical. __________________________________________________
KarlyyMiracle 2008-03-30 22:51:33 I very well know what a saddle horn is for. I rode western for 3 years before I switched to english, so i'm speaking from experience here. I never said english riders don't fall at all, you're misreading my post. __________________________________________________
KarlyyMiracle 2008-03-30 22:49:47 Exactly. Western saddle's are made so you can focus on your horse, and you don't have to worry about balance as much. How do you get more physical in western events? Please elaborate. __________________________________________________ |
