The singer does sing in the same style as dio but since he's not the metal god himself Mr. Ronnie James Dio he's not going to sound exactly like him and I wouldn't expect him to. Although his voice isn't bad he lacks the "warmth" of Ronnie's voice. and generally the sounding is more "industrial" lacks sooul in a sence. Too noisy. That is why i prefer Ronnie's performance.
