Description: This is a short response in the video thread of Nathow trying to "show me the correct path". To my regular subs, I probably seem a bit out of personality, probably because I've had nothing but coffee and bacon today. =p I'm very energetic compared to normal..maybe I should do this more often, actually. ;) |

drschnaggels ::: Favorites Good video. Your frustration is understandable. 07-10-08 23:44:25 __________________________________________________
thedarkener ::: Favorites Thanks. I just watched it again, I really hope I seemed to make myself clear, although I used "context" a whole lot - I could have used different words, like "perspective" or "viewpoint", right? I actually laughed a bit during his videos because he kept saying "The Lord is your father." Like repeating his beliefs over and over would somehow show me the light. 07-10-09 00:05:16 __________________________________________________
GNOME919productions ::: Favorites i agree. this "nathow" guy thinks that the only way to be pure and good is to be a christen and yet a budist or an atheist/agnosic could be a good person and not go to heven (if it exists) is wrong. 07-10-08 21:31:48 __________________________________________________
doobiesmk ::: Favorites It's good that you know about stuff, like the idea that if you lay yourself open to a doctrine, you will start believing the way *it* wants you to, or I *think* you said something to that effect at the beginning. 07-10-08 20:41:28 __________________________________________________
doobiesmk ::: Favorites It is so awesome that you know the things you know, like the idea that if you lay yourself open to certain types of doctrine, it's only natural that you will wind up believing in it, or experiencing what *it* wants you to experience. At least I *think* you said something to that effect at the beginning. 07-10-08 20:35:08 __________________________________________________
doobiesmk ::: Favorites I didn't when I was young, and when I went to study religion just from the standpoint of what they had to say or their history, I wound up laying myself open to proselytizing and I spent 5 years in the Church and completely lost the thread of what I originally set out to do. 07-10-08 20:49:10 __________________________________________________
0chimerical0 ::: Favorites Agreed. I think fundamentalists in particular are extremely uncomfortable with the possibility, the notion that there could possibly be something outside of their own belief systems. This somes from fear and arrogance. People are vulnerable to influence, have been forever..so is it any suprise? Still though, I understand the frustration you're expressing here. It really is difficult to stand by and see that aspect of our world sometimes. 07-10-08 20:13:47 __________________________________________________
mutedmind ::: Favorites Very well put my friend... I have been involved in these types of discussions for awhile now.. Especially on stickam when its live etc... Very good points.. I hope he grasps them, I really do.. Not too many will open their minds outside of their christianity box :-(.. 07-10-08 19:11:50 __________________________________________________
jrsnyderjr ::: Favorites good video...it is the same thing and I would go with what you state in "What's in common with all religions?" that a fundamentalist Christian will not accept. I had the thoughts you express here in July when he first posted responses. 07-10-08 19:09:54 __________________________________________________
jrsnyderjr ::: Favorites I had similar thoughts when I listened to his video responses last July and I guess he's done another which I won't wade through. I will go with the basic concept of your video "What's in common with all religions?" which I think is what you're outlining here. The conclusion you've drawn about the discussion in my estimation is probably the only way to approach it. 07-10-08 19:03:15 __________________________________________________ |
