Whimsicology ::: Favorites Regarding 3 and 4, I do think it's weird that people have "pride" in things that are not their accomplishments and that they have no control over, such as culture, heritage, skin color, sexuality, etc. However, I think the "pride" thing is a reaction to the idea that they should be "ashamed" of these things. There's no reason to be ashamed of things beyond your control either, but people assume because they are not ashamed, they must be proud. And lastly.. i think anyone that wants to learn about christianity should read the bible and make their own assumptions. Recommending books about the bible is good but the problem is that you get the opinions and interpretations of the author instead of your own interpretations.
